1. Ensure the participation of all major actors who help in the positioning of the region, so as to build together a sense of belonging and an image that identifies us.
2. Build up civil consciousness, consolidating hard work and civic responsibility, reappraising our identity as Rosario’s citizens so as to then be prepared to project ourselves to the country and the world.
3. Develop the “Metropolitan Rosario Model”, defining the strategic positioning we want to achieve and adding value to everything that is local, so as to ensure its spreading and promotion.
4. Set the mechanisms for the profitable growth of the Foundation and for measuring the results of the Foundation's management.
Cities around the world compete against each other to attract visitors, business and investments. As integration processes intensify and the economy turns global, the unique aspects and role of a city become more significant.
Currently, a city's territorial identity and projection (image) are essential to any progressive administration. Identity is what a city is and intends to be and achieve. The administration tries to make citizens feel deeply identified with their landscape and organizations, and with the products and services that are manufactured and marketed. The strategic management of the territorial image entails a joint effort by public organizations (local and provincial governments), private organizations (businesses and associations), pressure groups (mass media) and the general public, supporting a complex communication process that embraces and manages the elements that make the territory competitive.
The competition is not only felt in the economic sector, but it is also leading local authorities to make reforms in order to optimize their interventions, thus achieving greater competitiveness and lending the territory an identity of its own.
These processes manifest through the design and implementation of a City Positioning Plan.
The city is built day by day, by all of us. Thus, a large group of business people, institutional representatives and Rosario's City Government have taken on this challenge, creating an area where to plan and implement actions that would lead to an easily recognizable positioning of Rosario, based on city performance. To this effect, research was made on common current and future global projection areas, which included the social, production, cultural and institutional aspects of the city, in order to assess the situation and define positioning elements.
Setting strategies, defining and implementing objectives is a process, a communications undertaking that requires time and funding. Therefore, in order to synergically articulate public and private sectors to strengthen Rosario’s identity features and boost its development, while promoting and going along with the region’s significant events within the city, the country and the world, La Fundación de la Ciudad de Rosario was established.
